Tonight, we head out to the
Atlas Coal Mine to investigate the reports of unexplained activity. The nights are much cooler, now, so we'll be packing warm jackets and hot beverages - and we've been surprised by the staff with permission to have a coal fire in the Wash House if we get too chilled. We had no idea that old furnace was still operational. And just as wearing prison-related clothing at haunted jails can cause reactions in entities, if there are any entities in the Wash House, firing up the coal furnace may cause them to respond.
During the initial phone conversation with Linda, one of the site managers, we were told that no one has investigated the buildings at this time of year before. The miners would have been returning to work around this time, after having several months off, and then they would work through the winter. So, it will be interesting to find out if anything "extra" occurs during the investigation. By "extra", we mean any activity outside of the usual reports the staff gets from visitors. We're hopeful that having Jay and Tanya, two of the staff members, with us during the evening will also be helpful.
We were unable to get a video camera for the investigation, so we won't have a lot of video to present. But we'll provide the site staff and you, our readers, with our best efforts. We're going to be at the site for most of the night - possibly all night, if there's activity to warrant it - which means several videos on YouTube (
we'll have to do them in parts, because of YouTube's time restrictions) after we share our findings with the site staff.
Our equipment is very basic:
flashlights
digital cameras
voice recorders
lantern (
for lighting when we're using the video option on our digital cameras)
So, wish us good hunting and safety, and we'll see you all soon!
