Case #3: Atlas Coal Mine

In June of this year, we visited the Atlas Coal Mine, located just a few minutes east of Drumheller, Alberta.  In the course of conversation with some of the staff in the Visitors Center, we were invited to investigate several buildings on this national heritage site.

On Friday, October 3, WPI will be investigating some of the buildings at the Atlas Coal Mine site.  At our request, a couple of site staff members will also be joining us, as we feel this may help any entities which may be there to feel more comfortable with our presence. We feel this may encourage them to communicate with us because they are familiar with the staff; when you're with people you know, it can sometimes feel easier to talk with people you don't know.

The Atlas Coal Mine will be our third official investigation for this year, and we could not be happier.  We've had to deal with a lot of challenges since we became a team, and being invited to conduct investigations in the places we've been to has truly been our privilege and joy.

The Reports

Staff and visitors alike have reported hearing unexplained noises and voices in the Wash House when no one is in the building.  Tanya, one of the site staff members, had a personal experience there in which she unknowingly - and mildly - provoked an entity, and had one of the clothing baskets suddenly and inexplicably fall on her head. She wasn't injured badly, but it did take her by surprise, she said.

Other reports include unexplained noises and voices coming from the Mine Office, the Supply House, and even the Visitors Center itself. This will all be confirmed when we interview the staff just before we start the investigation, and when we're ready for the reveal, we'll update these reports.

Amended EVP

We want to thank Shawn for taking the time to watch the video and listen to the EVPs provided in the previous post.  After reviewing the EVP he brought to our attention, we are changing the word "was" to "looks".  Thanks so much for your time, Shawn; it's definitely appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who has been visiting us at our YouTube channel as well as here.  We appreciate your comments and questions, and we hope you will continue to visit us and share your thoughts with us.

Have a spiritful day and a great weekend!

MY PLEASURE!!! The old mine sounds like a real creepy place to do an investigation. Some of my family is from Drumheller and I remember there has always been lore about that old coal mine. many died there not only digging it but also working in it. You may find an overload of spirits there. Can't wait for that one! Totally cool Your bro

Thanks for your input Holly. =) I do think that first picture was just dust or something "normal" of the sort; the second picture is the one I am most curious about though. I did take some other shots, but not at the same angles... none of the others had anything unusual though, and they were not taken immediately after the initial shots. All the animals do shed and in the first shot it's definitely possible to just be fur as it was close to the door where I entered; the other shot was across the room and I had not walked there nor were any of the animals around at the time.

The bathroom was not in the house originally; it was not added until after the house was sold to someone outside the family. There were no deaths in the house that we are aware of. The house was not always on the property it is on now though; it used to be further down the road and then it was moved to where it is now. We do live in an area known to have old Native American graves, there were all sorts of tribes on this land hundreds of years ago.

Maybe I'll take some more pictures the next time I am over there, but I will be sure to take some sequential shots so I can have a better idea (maybe lol) if I have captured anything or not. :)
